Editorial policy

What gets published here, how claims are checked, and what would make me take something down.

Who writes it

One person, independently. There is no editorial team and no contributor network. Articles carry the site's name rather than a personal byline for that reason — inventing a staff of writers would be the dishonest version.

What gets published

Four subjects: planning, money, small business and focused work, plus workspace material where it directly serves those. Anything outside that scope doesn't get published, even when it would obviously get traffic. Older articles written before that decision stay online at their original addresses but aren't promoted or extended.

How claims are handled

• Numbers. Any figure is either arithmetic whose working is shown, or it is cited. Statistics are not invented, estimated into existence, or attributed to unnamed studies.
• Testing. If a product hasn't been used, the guide says so in plain words. "Hands-on tested" appears only where it is true.
• Three kinds of claim. Buying guides separate manufacturer specifications, patterns visible across public reviews, and my own judgement, because a spec sheet and an opinion are not equivalent evidence.
• Prices and ratings. Not printed on the page. They go stale and become misleading, so links say "check the current price" instead.

How AI is used

Drafting assistance is used for some article groundwork, then edited, fact-checked and rewritten before publication. What is never delegated: the recommendation itself, the arithmetic in any example, the claim about what was tested, and the decision to publish. Nothing is auto-published to this site.

Updating and checking

Every article shows the date its links and figures were last checked, which is a narrower and more honest claim than "last updated". A check means the internal and outbound links resolve, the arithmetic still holds, and the recommendation still stands.

Independence

No paid placements and no sponsored posts. No affiliate relationship influences which products appear or in what order. Affiliate links exist and are disclosed above the first one on any page that has them — see the affiliate disclosure.

Taking things down

An article is corrected, updated or removed if it is factually wrong, if a recommendation no longer holds, or if it falls outside what this site should cover. Corrections are published with a date rather than edited away silently — see the corrections policy.
